Exterior Subsoil Drain Systems
Designed to keep surface runoff away from your home, an exterior subsoil drain system consists of a 4-inch perforated pipe set in a 12-16” deep trench that is surrounded by gravel. To make the installation less visible, it is topped with a layer of soil, mulch, or decorative gravel. In the basement and under-slab, perimeter drains can be installed around the edge of the floor to make up for a missing or ineffective foundation drain.
Sump Pumps
This device sits in a heavy-duty well receiving tank, which is dug below the floor slab to discharge water collected by the drain tiles. The pump should be serviced regularly to ensure reliability.
